Born in India. Grew up in a middle class family. Lost his father at the age of 9. This young guy took up the burden of his family. Born to a musician, A.R.Rahman started playing in the troupes of famous musicians. He got a breakthrough into films when he was introduced by director Maniratnam. From there on, his musical journey into films became a grand success. He went international when he started scoring music for movies from china and other country. 'Slumdog Millionaire' brought him 'The Oscars'. His popularity reached its peak. There has been lot written about him already by many people all over the world.
